14ten
Evidence
Evidence is a persisted artifact that substantiates a claim.
Examples:
- caption logs
- timing traces
- rule execution records
- UI state change records
- accessibility setting histories
Assertions
An Assertion is a formal, auditable claim about compliance status derived from evidence.
Example (illustrative):
{
"regime": "FCC",
"authority": "47 CFR Part 14",
"control_id": "14.21.b.2.iv",
"status": "pass",
"evidence_refs": ["id-of-caption-log"]
}
Why this is powerful
Assertions are only as credible as their evidence, and 14ten is explicitly designed to produce both.
The result is a defensible recordkeeping posture aligned with Part 14’s requirements.
